Get SiteMind leads in Slack.

When a visitor leaves their details in the chat, SiteMind can send them to Slack. Slack does not accept SiteMind’s webhooks directly, so an automation tool such as Zapier or Make sits in the middle and formats the message.

Through an automation tool

Zapier, Make or any tool that can receive a webhook and post to Slack.

  1. Create a webhook trigger

    In your automation tool, start a new workflow that begins with an incoming webhook, and copy the HTTPS address it gives you.

  2. Add it in SiteMind

    In your SiteMind dashboard, open Webhooks, add the address, and choose the lead.captured event.

  3. Send a test

    Use the test button on the webhook so your tool receives a sample event and learns its fields.

  4. Post to Slack

    Add a Slack step that sends a message to your channel, using the name, email, phone and message fields from the event.

  • Webhooks need Growth or above

    Outbound webhooks are part of the Growth, Pro and Enterprise plans.

  • Two events

    SiteMind sends lead.captured when a visitor leaves their details, and chat.answered after each answer. Most teams only send leads to Slack.

Slack’s incoming webhooks expect a message in Slack’s own format. SiteMind sends its own event format, signed so you can check it came from us, so a tool in the middle does the translation.

The visitor’s name, email, phone and message, as far as they filled them in, inside a data object with the event name and IDs.
